Brantley County High Air Force Junior ROTC Competition Drill Team and Color Guard Teams "The Little Engine that Could" embarked upon the monumental task of Competiting against 4AAAA and 5AAAA Powers three of which won National Drill Championships the last three years. Drill teams from all over Northern Florida and Southern Georgia performed in eight seperate events at the Southeastern Regional Drill Championships held at Tift County High, Tifton Georgia on Saturday November 14, 2009. Brantley County the smallest school and smallest team at the event won Five Trophies placing Third in Armed Inspection, Third in Armed Regulation Drill, Third in Armed Exhibition Drill and Fifth Place in Unarmed Exhibition and Won Third Place Overall Trophy in the Armed Division. Chief Buskey states" This is truely a remarkable feat in that most schools have seperate teams that train and perform in only one or two specific event while Brantley's Teams have to learn and perform eight different routines with only 15 Cadets and minimal practice times. Brantley County High AFJROTC will host the their First Annual Martin Luther King Joint Services (Army, Navy Air Force, Marines) Junior ROTC Drill Champoinships with over 20 schools from South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida expected to compete on Saturday January 16, 2010. Events include Armed and Unarmed Color Guard, Armed and Unarmed Inspection, Regulation Drill, Individual, Dual , and Team Exhibition Drill. Brantley County and surrounding communities are encourage to come out and see some spectacular drill performances and cheer your Brantley County High Color Guard and Drill Teams Admission is FREE and there will be concession stands available with good food.
